Intersect is an evolving music project... new tracks are added to this album over time.

Each track is composed around a snippet from one of the conversations I've recorded over the years as a documentary filmmaker.

Intersect was initially inspired by how Robert Altman frames and treats dialog in his films, particularly in McCabe & Mrs. Miller (1971). I'm drawn to the idea of dropping an audience into a conversation, where the tone of the space matters more than understanding every word, and each listener situates themselves in their own way. And, as with Altman's McCabe, the music does a lot of the heavy expositive lifting.

I kind of think of these as miniature radio plays, or conceptual sound documentaries, some more abstract than others. Playing around in these shared spaces between my music & documentary work is really satisfying.
